True Masaai culture

Due to their unique way of civilization and style of dress, they stay in various entertainment spots in the eastern part of Africa. This tribe is more familiar among African groups. Maa is the common language spoken by this group. The total Maasai population speaking such languages is around 900,000 when estimated. These language speakers are found in Kenya and Tanzania.

Many people travel a long way to get to Masai Manyatta just to enjoy a day or two. These Masains believe in and worship the god Engai. People have assumed that their god lives on a mountain. This mountain is in Serengeti of Tanzania. The religious head who performs extraordinary prayers and sacraments at times of natural disaster is called Laibon. He acts as a transmitter between God and people.

Corpses are not to be buried according to Masai tradition. They think that the rotten body contaminates the ground. Those corpses are thrown to the scavengers. This particular funeral ceremony could bring pleasure to the religious head. Suppose scavengers don’t eat those corpses, people think it’s a very bad sign for the town. So, accordingly, they decorate the body with animal blood to attract jackals and other ferocious animals.

In the end, the main intention of the people is that some animals eat the corpse.

On the other hand, society does not accept newborns. The reason behind this practice is that the infant mortality rate is very high in Africa.

If the baby manages to survive for three months, then it is given a name and completely taken out into the community. When the boys reach adolescence, they are initiated to become warriors. This group of warriors is known as Morans. The ceremony performed during this time is very painful. The particular ritual is performed once every fifteen years.

Even teenage girls must undergo the ritual called (FGC) F-Female G-Genital C-Cutting. This practice is strongly criticized by women who undergo this ceremony.
