Signs of a cyst on your ovary

Some symptoms will tell you that you have an ovarian cyst, but experiencing these ovarian cyst symptoms does not necessarily mean that you are affected. But again, if you have two or more of the most common symptoms, you should immediately seek your doctor’s advice to prevent further complications. Most of us would simply ignore these signs and hope they would go away on their own. Women encounter one of these symptoms, if not some, on a regular basis. We usually equate some of the symptoms of ovarian cyst with menstrual period or pre-menopause.

Doctors don’t just rely on symptoms to confirm that you have an ovarian cyst. Blood tests and a pelvic exam are done for the correct diagnosis of this condition. These are the symptoms of an ovarian cyst:

o Fullness, swelling, pressure in the abdomen
o Dull or excruciating lower abdominal pain
o Unusual bread on the rib
or painful menstruation
o Painful urination
o Irregularity in your period, abnormal bleeding or spotting
o Unexplained weight gain
o Dull pain in the lower back or thighs
o Painful intercourse
o Unusual tiredness
o Pain and pressure when defecating
o Breast tenderness
or infertility
o Increased level of hair growth
o Lumps in the lower abdomen
o Strange nodules under the skin layer
o Headaches in some cases

Some cysts may go away over time, but having to suffer through the symptoms mentioned above would be too uncomfortable. Some of these signs need immediate medical attention. Having ovarian cysts can not only be painful, but can also lead to infertility. On the other hand, some women develop ovarian cysts during pregnancy. In most cases, your doctor will only need to drain the cyst.

Full awareness is needed to treat your condition properly. Some women prefer traditional cure or method like surgery, however, many women look for alternative treatments. Today, we’re fortunate enough that experts are endlessly finding ways to help women treat ovarian cysts and keep them from coming back. I always say that doing some research on your condition will save you a lot of time, money and effort.
