In case you didn’t know, there are a ton of things you can do on that laptop that are interesting and fun. Let’s see them now.

Many people don’t realize that they can use their laptops for GPS. What you need is a GPS device (it doesn’t cost much, it’s just a small transmitter) and install the accompanying software. So you can know where you are anytime, anywhere! Tidy stuff.
2. Play a game
Laptops can be used for work as well as? Games, of course. Many laptops these days are equipped with the best graphics cards and processors, outperforming even your traditional desktop gaming machines. Get a good laptop, a good game and enjoy the night…

If you’re on the go and want to update your friends and family on your exploits, you need to take a few photos with your phone or digital camera, put those photos on your laptop, and then share them online. That’s the best way to let the world know where you are and what you’re doing.

Now obviously this one is a no-brainer. However, I just want to point out the best way to watch a movie on a laptop. Connect it to a widescreen TV (if it has an S-video or HDMI output) and enjoy a truly cinematic experience.

Do you want to know what is the most used application on a laptop? I don’t have the numbers or the stats, but pretty much everyone sitting at Starbucks with a laptop should be chatting over the internet in some way. Or someone connecting to a school, hotel, or workplace should also be chatting on the Internet. Very clearly, this has to be something ‘fun’ for you to do.
6. Make an urgent online transaction
I must say this has saved me many times. I can’t say that an urgent online transaction is ‘fun’, but I thought I’d mention this one anyway. If you forget to pay your credit card bill or book movie tickets, a laptop is a lifesaver! Simply log in to a wireless hotspot and complete the transaction. In the old days, you had to hope that someone you know was at home at the desk and could do the same for you. Now that’s history with your laptop with you at all times.
7. Educate children
Laptops are perfect for entertaining young children. You can bring the machine and follow the child! Simply navigate to a flash-based gaming website and play the game with your child. If he gets bored and runs away, grab the laptop and follow him! You can’t do that with a desktop computer.
