Various skills development programs aiming to improve the employability of young Indians. The short-term training provided through the NEEM scheme is expected to benefit candidates. Skills development and professional training programs are conceptualized, executed and supervised by various organizations.

On-the-job training is an important milestone in the credential enhancement process. So far, skills development and business development efforts across the country have been highly fragmented. With current education and skill levels in the workforce it is very low. It will be a great challenge for India. To overcome this challenge Govt. India launched several skills development programs.

Skills development initiatives will help realize the inert potential of educated youth. As India progressively moves towards becoming a global knowledge economy, it must meet the growing aspirations of its youth.

There are a variety of skills training programs across the country including:

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is one of the main schemes of the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The goal of this skill is to enable large numbers of young Indians to adopt industry-relevant vocational training.

The National Employability Through Apprenticeship Program (NETAP) is a public-private partnership of the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship. The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme is a new plan by the Government of India to promote apprenticeship training and increase apprenticeship participation.

Udaan’s plan aims to help ambitious and progressive youth in India.

Seekho aur Kamao is a plan to improve the skills of minority youth in various modern / traditional skills based on their qualification.

The National Skills Development Corporation of India (NSDC) was established as a one-of-a-kind public-private partnership company.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana There are several challenges that prevent the rural poor in India from competing in the modern market, such as lack of formal education and business skills. This program enables the poor and marginalized to access the benefits

Boeing, Tata Advanced Materials Ltd (TAML) and Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) have launched a program to train frontline workers for the aerospace industry.

Tata Motors, in partnership with the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF), has launched a program under the National Employability Enhancement Mission (NEEM), a national skills enhancement initiative of the Government of India. This mission aims to improve employability through the objective of learn and earn, under which Tata Motors will bear all the costs of apprenticeship training.

This scheme is for employers in specific industries to hire apprentices in designated trades to provide apprenticeship training or industry on-the-job training to youth. Trainees have the opportunity to exhibit in real working conditions. They have the opportunity to work on advanced machines and equipment, industry-specific best practices, and learn more about their field. Apprentices become skilled workers.

Craftsmen training program

The Government of India Initiated Craftsmen Training Scheme aims to impart skills in various professional trades to meet the skilled workforce needs for the technology and industrial growth of the country. The training period for various trades ranges from six months to two years and the entry qualification ranges from 8th to 12th class pass.

Green Skills Development Program

The Green Skills Development Program (GSDP) of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF & CC) is an initiative for the development of skills in the environment and forestry sector to enable young people in India to obtain paid or self-employment employment. The program strives to develop technical knowledge and commitment to sustainable development. It will assist in the achievement of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), the Sustainable Development Goals.
