New year, new heart

The New Heart Welcome to a New Year, a new month, a new day. It’s time to clean up and erase the past. It’s time to set fresh, new intentions and goals. The time is now.

Take time to reflect on where you are in life. Then write down all (yes, all!) of your wishes. Imagine where you want to be, who you want to be and how you want to be. Most people first and foremost want to be happy. What part of you prevents you from that joy? What needs to be done to remove barriers and transform your life? Do you want to transform your body into a healthy and vibrant being that responds with joy to movement? How about you develop an attitude of forgiveness and allow yourself to let go of old angers and hurts that prevent healing and allow the acceptance of pure happiness in a fresh and clean heart? Are you attending to your spiritual body daily? Are you taking time daily to relax in the stillness of your highest self?

These are the steps to start transforming your body, mind and spirit. Take the time to define and chart the path to who and how you want to be. With these long-term goals, you can now set your short-term goals. As you set your goals, make them possible. How much will your heart dance as you accomplish short-term goals? Make a resolution to be kind to yourself and start loving that part of yourself that you don’t like. Then you can start to change, step by step. Start with something as simple as deciding to make a new person smile every day, even a stranger you pass while driving.

Plan to laugh at least once a day. When you find yourself judging someone or something, forgive on the spot. Give up judgment to allow joy to enter your heart. Start with 10 minutes of daily exercise. You can build from there. The discipline of achieving what you set out to do is transformative in itself. Watch your heart fill with joy, love, and gratitude as you begin your simple, doable goals on a daily basis.
